GM Taylor’s Gaming News #2 – Electric Boogaloo

My Friends,

Newsletter number two! Yeah! In this issue, I plan to talk about QAGS 2e (Quick Ass Game System 2nd Edition) and my QAGS-based game offerings. I have also added a list of games in development to the list of available games. And I have broken the Coming Soon section into two parts, Coming Soon and Appearances.

I also want to give credit where credit is due. If not for Eric Woodward’s Win At Work: Get Hire Fast program, I would not have the confidence (and correct mindset) to step out and try this venture. I also want to credit my personal coach, Dan Caputo, and my entrepreneur coach, Ben Rodriguez, for giving me great advice and ideas on how to make this work.

Quick note, all my games are currently available for $5 a session. This introductory price will end January 1st. At that time, all games will go up to $20 a session.

Please send me your thoughts, questions,  and suggestions for this newsletter. I can be reached at taylorkent1968@gmail.com or on Discord @snarkdogg68. You can also join my gaming community here.

It is not easy getting the word out about my game offerings; I would appreciate your help.

Ways you can help:

  1. If you see a game you’re interested in, sign up if it fits your schedule
  2. Forward games or this newsletter to people you know who might be interested
  3. Tell your friends about how much fun you had playing games with me
  4. Please leave me a GM’s review on StartPlaying.Games
  5. Join me in a game I am playing

I am also available for private games, parties, and corporate team-building events. For more information about these events, send me a message at taylorkent1968@gmail.com.

Let’s kick this thing into overdrive.

Taylor’s Thoughts:

So, QAGS (Quick Ass Game System), it may very well be my favorite TTRPG (tabletop role-playing game) system. It is simple to learn. It is fast-paced. It is versatile. It only requires one type of die, 20-sided. It uses candy (yum yums) for experience points. And it doesn’t get in the way of telling a great story. (You can get a copy of the main rules or the quickstart on DriveThruRPG. Both of them are pay-what-you-want now.) QAGS 2e is published by Hex Games.

QAGS also offers a wide range of supplements and settings, such as Sharktoberfest, Hobomancer, Edison Force, and M-Force. (Good luck finding a copy of M-Force. I got my physical copy used through Noble Knight Games several years back.)

I am currently offering a Sharktoberfest (I am a sucker for a good sharksploitation film) game, The Rust Sharks of Mars, set under the domes on Mars; and I have two more in development, The Void Sharks Of The Asteroid Belt (asteroid miners release an ancient evil and most find a way to stop it from spread across the galaxy)  and The Menace Of The Squark (still working on the specifics of this one). (I am running The Void Sharks Of The Asteroid Belt and The Rust Sharks of Mars at Gary Con 2026.) Sharktoberfest is my favorite setting for QAGS. I describe it as we are making a shark movie like you would find on the SyFy channel (back in the good old days of SyFy anyway).

Next up we have M-Force or Monster-Force. The premise of this setting is that monsters are real and you as a member of M-Force have to deal with them to protect the general public. I have three games in development for this setting: The Depths Below (a sea going kaiju adventure), Mutant Werewolves of the Arctic Wastes (Werewolves spreading havoc across the Arctic Circle), and Facility 17 (a secret M-Force facility has gone off line and you have to find out why).

Finally we have a creation of my own. Tales of the Vegetable Police. The games take place in Veg City where all the vegetables are anthropomorphize and sentient. The stories revolve around the exploits of the Veg City Police Department. Currently in development we have: Vegetable Police: Dark Night Of The Chopper and Vegetable Police: The Chopper’s Revenge. Both revolve around a serial killer terrorising the resident of Veg City.

So keep your eyes peeled for these QAGS based games in development to go live. They should all be a lot of fun to play and run.

Well those are my thoughts for this week. I hope you found them informative and entertaining. Tune in next week to see what is new with me.
